Additional Opportunities for Points

Opportunity 1: Donate to Diana’s American Heart Association Campaign

Our founder and president emeritus, Diana Zarowin, needs our support in her American Heart Association campaign! The AHA’s goals involve educating people all over the world about heart disease and stroke prevention, and providing aid and support to those that have been afflicted with the disease. Help her reach her goal of raising $2000 between 9/15-10/15. ANY contribution will help. You will receive 1 member point that can be used as an event point or volunteering point (your choice).

Opportunity 2: Present a Current Event

PFWH is holding our first ever CURRENT EVENTS IN MEDICINE event on Oct. 1st. We highly encourage you to participate by reading up on something of your choice (can be anything – e.g. vaccinations, health care laws, new research, etc.) then writing a short summary to share with everyone. After you read the summary, we will all discuss the topic. Feel free to work with someone else if that would make you feel more comfortable. You will receive 1 event point for presenting a current event.

If you plan on sharing an event, please let us know here: https://forms.gle/wo8TMhfYg3PUA75V7

Opportunity 3: Get Your Flu Shot!

Email us a confirmation that you got your flu vaccine and you will receive 1 event point. Campus Health will be offering FREE flu shots from October 16 to 18 in Bodek Lounge, Houston Hall, for all UPenn students and faculty.

Opportunity 4: Sign Up to Present Your Research

Participate in PFWH’s very first Research Symposium on Friday, October 25th at 12 pm. This is a very good opportunity – you will able to say that you presented your research at a scientific conference at Penn! We highly encourage anyone who never got the chance to make a poster or present their research to take advantage of this opportunity. It will be a Round Robin-style Research Symposium with 2-3 presenters per table. You can also make a PowerPoint and present it to your table on your laptop. You will receive 1 event point for presenting.

If you would like to present, please fill out the following form: https://forms.gle/FFT4XohSAWrj4mu57
